The Blue Mountains Art Centre will have a working art studio and workshop. Visitors will be able to see Aboriginal artists at work and there will be demonstrations of traditional art and weapon making.
We will be engaging an experienced artist to co-ordinate visual arts and also be the mentor to young artists who will be in residence developing both their art and business skills. We will also be inviting guest artists from throughout Western NSW to spend time in our centre.
We are excited about the opportunity to pass on traditional knowledge to the younger generations which will promote and encourage Aboriginal culture. Centres such as this are essential in achieving this aim.
We will be announcing the position of Visual Arts Coordinator shortly and we are fortunate to have interest from some high calibre artists.
